  • @dbelleperc The blade tips are not supersonic, they are only about 64% of the speed of sound while hovering and around 82% in cruise flight.

  • ant that a huey? just asking?

  • Nice LED recognition light. Also yes the twin blade does have something to do with the thumping sound. It is because the tips of the blades are supersonic.

  • Does the twin blade design have anything to do with the thwaping sound? I noticed the quad-bladed cousin, the Bell 412, to be a lot quiter (on video at least)

  • This is actually the Bell 210. A remanufactured version of the Bell UH1H.

  • love that sound...my father and i were out in the backyard and heard a thumping, looked up towards the mountain and there she was flying along the ridge...turned toward us and and thump-thump-thump-thump-thump-thump...hueys lead the way...

  • that is a bell 205 a commercail version of the famous huey a great helicopter loud but awsome! steve gerrick

  • Someone has been flying a helicopter at 2 in the morning at Renton's airport and its pretty annoying. My neighbors across the street say its like the helicopter is landing right on thier porch but my house is well insulated. In my house its more like someone's wacking the siding with a broom.
