In the High Country above the bustling mining towns of Havilah, Keyesville and Whiskey Flats lies Casa Vieja Meadow. A gang of outlaws had their hideout there and kept stolen horses in the meadow while they were looking for buyers. They had a little cabin and one of the outlaws' mother stayed there to cook and clean for them. I didn't know enough about the real outlaws, so I made up a story about a boy called Red James.....

Wanted to come back and pop open a Pabst blue ribbon and listen again. Love this song Archie. Story songs in the Traditional Folk style resonate with my inner being.
