This was very challenging for me to play because of the intense feeling involved to get it right.
Carlos played it with such a passion on the original recording. Instead of using a Wah effect to duplicate the sound the way he recorded it, I placed the mic in front of the beam blocker and it kinda helped in getting the sound very close i think.

No pedals at all.

The distortion sound comes naturally from my amp. It's really a simple crunch setting.

When the volume is rolled down it gets really clean for rhythm playing, and when it's full up.. it's all sustain. I usually keep it somewhere in the middle when playing melodic phrases.

Great playing with lots of feelings. To improvise is fine but not to much cause you get drifted away from the original too much that happends over here.
