  • Okay - what keeps the lock shut while you're not there to anchor it

  • your Garage door.

  • What garage door?

  • most people who leave home through their garage door by remote control. Can leave the Door Anchor on their front doors. Therefore you can exit the house using your garage door.

  • where can i get one of these!

  • Are you serious? People buy this and similar appliances all the time for numerous reasons. Students in dorms, teenagers, people sharing apartments, crew onboard oil rigs or merchant ships, hostelers, travellers, tourists staying in less mainstream destinations. Basically anywhere where personal security is an issue, which is what these kinds of devices are intended for. It's a niche (albeit a large one) product, not intended as some replacement for traditional locks.

  • It's a nice functional concept but it will likely never see any action. The dorm is the most practical application since you can't install an anchor there but that's about it.

  • or if you plan on never returning. ^^

  • I dont see how it can stop u from comming inside.I dont get it!When u twist the small knob,u can pull lthe door open.Maybe i missed something but i think it,s not working. Not on our Belgian doors. Those doors i open with a card.Theyre easy!

  • what about the toilet door if im laying a cable

  • It is one more thing someone trying to b&e has to deal with. Perhaps an extra few seconds of warning (enough for an owner to get his weapons ready..) I like it.

  • This is not a deadbolt which a solid kick can go through as well. But it does stop this new bumpkey phenomena and it still keeps people out of your hotel room when you are sleeping in the hotel room.

It is not a security door or a reinforced steel metal door either. It stops silent entry from your roomate when you are in college and you want to be alone with your significant other without intruders pranks or interuption when things are getting to the point.

  • Now I don't happen to have a garage that is attached to a house but I do remember my garage door used to sometimes open when there was a thunderstorm...well, I ended up buying a BIG dog anyway but I could see how useful this thing would be for a hotel room.
