Trying to kill by hand was too overwhelming a job. Went with dusting plants with poison. It's suppose to rain later this evening, most will get washed off. Tomatoes should be ready to pick in a week or so.

  • as one other on you tube says.. Pick it off and throw it away, throw it away.. lol sorry just had to say it. but eww. ive never seen one before. now i know if i ever have some on my plants.

  • @niffer58 eww is right. No way I'm touching those things without gloves.

  • Simply pluck the hornworms off of your good plants and toss them onto the sacrificial cherry tomato plant. The reason why you should do this, is that it eliminates the need for pesticide (worst thing a gardener can do) and it allows the natural predators of the hornworms to thrive. Also, the moth the hornworm turns into is a spectacular and unique pollinator, the Carolina Sphinx moth

  • @ConsulOfTheAge Okay thanks for watching. I think I'll just give up on growing tomatoes.

  • go out to ur garden with a pair of siccors, see one, chop its head off,it will fall under ur plant and be used as fertilizer haha

  • @Dman1889 Good idea. thanks

  • i just shoot them with a bbgun lol

  • @Andalbanon I have plucked them off by hand as well and I have been growing tomatoes for many years. I must be one of the lucky ones because I haven't gotten bit yet lol knock on wood.

  • @Heatherzblueyez1975 I take it you've never handled these worms before? I've plucked them by hand, and they most certainly do turn around and bite. It's not a painful or toxic bite, but a bite no less.

  • LMFAO!
