How to Cook Fish in the Microwave

1 tilapia fillet
spread some olive oil onto microwaveable plate
rub some olive oil onto fish
season with Old Bay
place thin lemon slices on top of fish
sprinkle chopped shallots or scallions onto fish
pour 1/4 cup white wine on top of fish and around it
seal with plastic wrap
microwave for 6 minutes
sprinkle with parsley and serve

i am going to try this. my grandma showed me when i was young that you can make medium rare steak more well done if you microwave it. and i love the last 5 seconds of every video where its always alex taking a bite and a nod of approval... haha.

@SHOKYINS the secret is in containing the vapor either by covering or putting in a bag . the steam cooks the fish thoroughly without allowing it to burn although it can overcook easily .

@Missusshore, can we broil the fish without using wine? And is it really needed to put plastic over the fish? I'm not too keen on putting plastic on high temp, might melt the plastic to the fish who knows. Thanks!
