Dark Souls - Final Boss: Gwyn, Lord of Cinder

There are a number of ways to best Gwyn. Given that I am not adept at parrying, I chose a tank approach. Here, I am level 78, wearing the Paladin Armor Set +5, the Grass Crest Shield, the Ring of Steel Protection, the Flame Stoneplate Ring, and wielding a Fire Great Scythe +10. I also took advantage of the extra protection provided by the Iron Flesh pyromancy.

After defeating Gwyn, you are given the chance to acquire one of two achievements depending on the ending you choose. If you light the bonfire, you receive the 'To Link the Fire" achievement. If you do not light the bonfire, and instead leave the are, you receive the "Dark Lord" achievement. I chose the former.

any tips,??? im level 92 i think can´t kill him -__- i use the astora shield im strong enough to carry it, smough armor, and a great blackaxe from the black knights, sometimes i use the queelag fury but it doesnt work too good

@leggyhendrix12 I went for the tank approach. I equipped the best armor I had including Iron Flesh. I then attacked him as soon as I could. My goal was to get as many hits on him as possible before Iron Flash expired.

I've been using the Fire Great Scythe since the second half of my first playthrough, but I'm not really sure how happy I am with it for PvP, I seem to always get outsmarted because of how slow it is. I think for PvE it's an amazing weapon and definitely my main weapon to wield, but I think I want to find something a bit more versatile for PvP, or at least a new strategy; maybe 2h running and R1, I love that attack XD Any suggestions?
