@janellsis see number 42 tarpley.good player in greece
-
That mavs team was really great. Tarpley is my all-time favorite player but he was, to put it softly, stupid. He could have been the best big man in the league, his performance in the '88 playoffs alone i believe showed exactly what he could do. The problem is, he dragged a whole franchise with him and it took them a lot of years to come back. What a waste!

no they just put his voice
-
"...just go to the locker, get a swhower, we're all gonna ride the same plane you know?" LOL!!
The greatest Lakers commentator IMO. Will always remember the one and only Chick Hearn. RIP You are greatly missed my friend. "This game is in the refrigerator... the door is closed, the lights are out, the eggs are cooling, the butter's getting hard and the jello's jiggling!!"

@michaelbrianhite what a damn team, dallas was then! lakers beat some awesome rockets, blazers, mavs, suns, jazz teams in the eighties.
-
Brad Davis looks as if he were physically ill after the Kareem to Scott play @:57. It was, after all, sick.
-
Basically which ever team won this series wins tha championship, Dallas Starters:
Derek Harper, Ronaldo Blackman, Mark Aguire, Sam Perkins and James Donaldson
Bench:Roy Tarpley, Brad Davis and D Shremp and Dale Ellis

Listen to Chick made the call. A great and a true original. R.I.P., Chick.
-
CBS would have never hired Chick; they were too pro-Celtics. Frank Glieber and Hubie Brown were they only two CBS announcers that gave the Lakers the respect they deserved

"walks 19 steps and they don't call it"

@janellsis Mike Smrek. I think he was only on the squad that season. He was a random 7 foot hack that you stick in during garbage time (sorry, Mike).

@nonplayerzealot4 MIKE SMREK!! wow .he is a...legend here in Greece, someone called him MIKE WRECK :-).he generally did good though...
one more: who is the blond play maker of dallas?+did they do well that season?

@janellsis Blond Mavs point guard was Brad Davis, who the Lakers originally drafted in 1978. In 1988, LA and Dallas went to the 7th game of the Conference Finals. Good team, but their defense was easy for LA to carve up. They seemed to have more highlight reel material against them than almost any other team. Still, LA wasn't a great road team that year and lost all 3 in Dallas in the playoff series. I uploaded recaps of 3 of those 88 playoff gms between the teams. Check my vids.
