Pit Bull owners at Auburn Regional Park in California send video testimonials to the Auburn City Council to ask them to NOT discriminate against Pit Bulls but, instead, to focus on drafting an ordinance that holds all dog owners equally accountable for their dogs and encourages responsible dog ownership in general.

  • i was surprised no one mention the following.

in the 70's the Doberman got popular, got over breed and therefor got a bad reputation because of incidents and bad owner, in the 80's it was the Rottweilers same things happen to them as the Dobes, in the 90's it was the German Shepherd or GSD and the something happen to them as the Dobes and the Rotts, and now its APBT and other bully breeds, which the term Pit Bull is to describe the many bully breeds out there when they can be named by the breed.

  • Great work, Dawn! Keep fighting the good fight! I hope and pray no breed restrictions or breed bans pass in your area! I'm so glad I found you on Facebook! It takes a special person to do the kind of work you do! I LOVE ALL YOUR VIDEOS HERE!

  • That is exactly the problem. There are too many irresponsible owners with Pit Bulls. So we have a problem that needs to be dealt with. The people on this video are not the problem, it is all the assholes who are not responsible pet owners and there are way too many of them. I see them everyday.

  • Embarrassed yet?

122331. (a) Cities and counties may enact dog breed-specific

ordinances pertaining only to mandatory spay or neuter programs and

breeding requirements, provided that no specific dog breed, or mixed

dog breed, shall be declared potentially dangerous or vicious under

    those ordinances.

  • You clearly are not comprehending the words that you are reading. Maybe someone with more astute reading comprehension skills could explain the meaning of this law to you. I'd recommend this happening sooner than later, because the more you talk, the more you show your ignorance and the worse you make things for your own cause.

On that note, I am now going to take my Dad's advice and not respond anymore. The great advice he gave is, "Don't try to match wits with an idiot!"

  • Try reading it really slowly this time. I wish you luck in improved reading comprehension skills:

Fact: In CA, it is illegal for local jurisdictions to ban pit bulls or restrict them in any way other than breeding restrictions and spay-neuter restrictions.

Fact: You have the right to tell City of Auburn you oppose these breeding and s/n restrictions.

Fact: City of Auburn has stated they now realize they can't ban pit bulls, yet there is a new video to them stating, "Don't ban my breed."

  • One city council member did initially state in the paper he wanted to consider banning pitties and also listed several other restrictions that were not legal to pass. Various people, including me, pointed out to City of Auburn that what they were considering is against state law & so Auburn conceded that point & has stated they will now only consider what is within the confines of the law to pass. If you want to oppose that, have at it, but do yourself and your cause a favor & get the facts.

  • If it wasn't relevant, then the city council would not be meeting on this issue this evening. Please just take your negative and childish comments to something that you are more familiar with: putting your foot in your mouth and your head in your own ass.

  • Why don't you read the HSC yourself when it says: Though no specific breed of dog is inherently dangerous or vicious, the growing pet overpopulation and lack of regulation of animal breeding practices necessitates a repeal of the ban on breed-specific solutions and a more immediate alternative to existing laws. SO SHUT THE FUCK UP YOU ARE WRONG.

  • Oh contrere, I know exactly what I am talking about. You clearly do not. 1) It's not relevant if the man who was bitten or anyone else, for that matter, wants to ban pit bulls because, once again, BANNING PIT BULLS IN CA IS ILLEGAL. The codes you will want to familiarize yourself with so you don't look foolish are Food & Ag Code 31683 and Health and Safety Codes 122330 and 122331.
