[This video was originally posted in some German forum. Many thanks to the original posters] --- One of the oldest boy choirs in Germany singing Matthäuspassion (St Matthew Passion) by their own cantor from XVII Century - J.S. Bach One of the oldest choirs in Germany singing Matthäuspassion (St Matthew Passion) by their own cantor from XVII Century - J.S. Bach. However now the choir is led by inimitable Georg-Christoph Biller. This is a very short sequence of originally 3+ hours long musical masterpiece.

  • which forum did you get this????? im gonna kill somebody if there are not more videos

  • well then I definitely will not sell out the guys... besides i wasn't able to retrieve any more fragments of this fantastic recording from them.. :(

  • It's possible to have the dvd of this performance?

  • as far as I know there is no DVD available from this particular performance. The only DVD from the Thomanerchor currently on sale seems to be the following "Johann Sebastian Bach - H-Moll-Messe". Look for it at Amazon in the DVD section

  • @Zarlini Have you tried contacting the TV station MDR - perhaps they'll hand out copies of previous shows. I dunno, though...

  • Simply excellent. danieladrm13 thank you for posting this.

  • Thinking often of Kantor Biller during his convalescence.

  • Please post more of this perfomance.

  • Just amazing. I wish there was more, more and much more. The expression on the faces of the soloists and choir gives away their incredible dedication to the meaning and interpretation of one of Bach's greatest works. Look at the expressions on the three boys' faces that perform short libretto parts... absolute dedication. Thank you, danielladrm13, for bringing this outstanding piece to us.

  • AMAZIIIING!!!

  • Wow what a wonderful find.

  • ¡Que cosa más fantástica, no me canso de escucharlo, una y otra vez!
