I found the script online {search terms: annie hall script} and here's the quote:

From what i recall, it's Woody Allen being clever, as McLuhan uses the term fallacy in his later works, but I wonder if "phallacy" was indeed part of the joke. Cheers!

Haha So family guy got their scene from this! When George bush is talking about jesus and peter comes up and says he has jesus right here. And jesus says you know nothing of my work. How you became president of anything is totally amazing. and then peter says. Boy if life was only like this.

No... read McLuhan and Holeopathic Quadrophenia. You can google it. One of the jokes here that I find particularly enjoyable is in the fact that if you understand McLuhan, in a subtle manner, life is in fact very much "like this".
