On April 28, 2011, A briefing on Japan's Tohoku earthquake, aftershocks, and tsunami of March 11, 2011, was held at UC Berkeley's CITRIS building. The briefing was jointly organized by the Pacific Earthquake Engineering Research Center (PEER), GEER, and EERI's Learning from Earthquakes Program.
