I just escorted a friend back to shore for getting sea sick so I am heading back out to spend more time fishing. All my fishing gears and electronics were not stowed like I normally do. It was an easy dry launch earlier so this one should be just as easy except for a fluke set of wave the broke some 100 yards from shore. I barely escape Davy Jones Locker. Enjoy the video.

  • Nice Johnny! I just flipped on 4th of July on a crowded beach. Very embarassing. When did you switch to the Hobie?

  • @Aquatichunter1 Ohhh! sorry to hear that, hope you did not loose anything. I made the switch beginning of May. I am now getting use to peddling. I still have the Nordkapp sea kayak if I decided to paddle around. TL, Johnny Ceviche

  • how does this compare to your prowler. which do you prefer??

  • @fishingkayakphil Hobie Mirage Drive takes less upper body effort to operate therefore less tiring once you become familiar with it. Peddling allows you to venture longer ranges compared to paddling. The only negative about it is there is no room to haul bigger fish such as Thresher Shark should one decides to keep one. With the Prowler I don't have that issue. Hobie should consider making a kayak that will have cargo room.

  • What version of the hobby kayak is that

  • @ipads22 It's a Hobie Revolution 2011. I'm just now getting use to it and it's a lot of fun.

  • Nice video, I'd be scared shitless if that was me. I get afraid of being out in the open like that, I'm also afraid of sharks haha. Anyways, great fishing and kayaking.

  • @onehappyislnd Feedback from viewers like yours gives me motivation to keep on making video. Thank you for watching.

    Cheers, johnnyceviche

  • @marcuelcajonYes all my electronics are enclosed in a water proof box and yes, I've capsized many times before and less often now. In more than ten years of kayaking I've lost a gaff and a bonnet.

  • I take it all your equipment is water proof. lol Has your kayak ever flipped over in the water?
