Unlike other limestone karst islands in Southeast Asia, El Nido is still relatively untouched by mass tourism, the waters are clean and the marine life is abundant. El Nido, a protected area, sits on the stunning Bacuit Bay in Northern Palawan in the Philippines and home to a multitude of marine life such as at least two species of sea turtles, black tip sharks, dolphins and other spectacular marine life endemic to the region.
I was in El Nido last year. Staying at Miniloc island.. This place is paradise.. Truely a heaven on earth. I've been to Mindoro, Bohol and Boracay. But nothing compares to El Nido!
I'm definitely going back......

@dextc I think each destination in the Philippines has its own unique beauty and charm. For sure, it's better than other destinations of similar nature in Asia.

@riain Absolutely. don't get me wrong. Phillipine nature as a whole is breathtaking. But the feeling i had when kayaking in the small/big lagoon and seeing the small untouched islands left me in awe. To see nature in it's "natural" way without beeing contaminated by humans was a big experience for me.
