NTW - Epic 4v4 on Arcole - Part 1 - Assault Across the River

This was a very interesting, but long, game. I decided to make a replay of it, sort of as an experiment.

A) Would anyone watch it
B) What's the best way to package a commentary that lasts 60+ minutes.

If you have ideas, feel free to share them.

once trip and karlov had won that crossing is there anything that the defending team could have done? They're facing a huge amount of firepower and they can only balance the numbers by taking from elsewhere. Do you think they should have maybe retreated into the town, fortify some buildings to break up that big formation?

Yeah, that's the real issue. I think they have 2 options:

1) Attack across the river on the left side of the map - not a good idea

2) Pull everyone back, probably to the second line of bottlenekcs or the hill that they wound up occupying later - better idea

The real damage was done when the Prussian was left on his own, as his army gets destroyed and causes few casualties. They were really outnumbered at that point. The true solution would be better maneuver earlier in the game.

I understand that the game is long and you want to speed it up, but by setting it in fast forward the whole game, you actually make it go slower and less enjoyable. Try more time in play :)

@TWReplays That's the amazing thing that your right flank was able to force a river crossing with the loss of only one unit of fencibles.
