Although Mr Alva does use a bit of dynamics here in piano and forte, there really is very little difference between the two and he certainly does not have that flowing legato line that is essential for singing Mozart. I loved him in Rossini, Donizetti and Bellini roles, but this leaves a lot to be desired. Compare this with Simoneau and hear the vast difference between the two, but to hear perfection in this aria listen to Ramon Vargas in the latest Met HD production.

@Wamofan this is a statement of wamofan: It is sad, that many listeners seem to be so radically stupid, that they are not able to accept, that other singers have equal or even better qualities than their own favourite.

il miglior Don Ottavio

No hay palabras!! Esto hace, A MI JUICIO, de nuestra especie, en sus caros artistas, algo singular en el universo, una estrella.

@TheVerdiBaritone Can you explain what you mean by that? I mean, I understand what mixed voice is, but not how this relates to modern methods for tenors - being a girl.

@jrjorgensen2519 Well, some tenors are just heavier. The debate lies in whether they should be singing the roles or not. Just from what I have been told as a young heavier voiced tenor,, Don Ottavio is a pretty popular role for younger heavy voiced tenors to sing because it sits considerably lower than most Mozart roles. People always hatin on the big voices.. Just sayin'
Im - pe - ca - ble!!!!! He´s too good!!!!!

remarquable interprétation...;dans tous les sens du terme...que dire de plus sur ce ténor qui quasi-parfait dans rôles qui demandent souplesse de la voix.;timbre caressant...phrasé formidable et musicalité sans faille..
