I was there that night... after so many operas and concerts I saw and heard with her, this concert moved me to tears (people stupidly asking for encores of Cenerentola, Semiramide, Donna del Lago, etc... and she replying with a friendly and sad smile), but I couldn't avoid witnessing her European farewell concert... it is among my best memories, ever.

video is terribly shakin'

Adaptando su repertorio a sus posibilidades actuales todavia puede regalarnos momentos magicos. Ya no hara L'italiana in Algerie pero esto es muy digno.Lastima su diccion espanola pero la perfeccion no es humana...

Who gives a damn about her size?!?!?!? Oh my God! seriously! she is a living piece of art!!! she is superb!!!
-
do you realy care if she's fat or large or big or whatever??? her outfit is perfect for her body type, and she's more than a great singer
-
Brava!!! She is amazing.

@baritonebynight Shame on me???? Be quiet, I was just answering at fabrizzzio48, who wrote "Loose weight, Marilyn!" Mrs.Horne in her biography looks at her video in Teatro alla Scala 1981 (you can see a lot of pieces from it on YouTube)and says more or less: it's the last time that I saw myself on shape.

@lojundolo What a rude comment to make about one of the greatest artists of our time. Shame on you you filthy vile thing.

Le timbre est exactement le même, la voix a la même place et la diction espagnole d'une clarté étonnante. fabuleuse Marylin!!

in those years, Mrs.Horne was in a serious trouble with her legs and assumed a lot of cortison, so she became too large!
Excuse me...do we all see the genius that is Marilyn Horne? Such an intact voice with great expressive capabilities in 99/00. Who else? No one!
