@VitalSigns1 black resigned because white threatened pawn takes queen, and his queen had no acceptable retreat, since she needed to defend her king. If the queen moves off the d4-h8 diagonal, then Rg3+ Kh8 Qg7 is checkmate. if she moves to g7, then Rg3 wins the queen. and if she moves to h8, then Rg3+ forces checkmate. So white really did force the win there.

and to answer callogician, white could also have won with Rg3+ Kh8 c3 Qe5 f4. It's similar.

Why not the simplistic Rg3 instead of c3 on the final move?

at 1:16, black made a mistake. don't castle unless you have to. he should have moved Bb7, taking control of the a8-h1 diagonal. the game wasn't brilliant. if you want such a game, look at bobby fischer
