They are the presidential bodyguard, a horse cavalry unit, tracing their lineage to British colonial days as far back as 1773.They were raised as a horse mounted personal bodyguard of the colonial governor and the horses continue as a tradition and part of ceremony.They are part of Indian Armoured forces and are all Tank men and part of mechanised forces.

i have just learned that rashtrapati bhawan is world's largest house for a head of a state...3 times of white house and twice as large as bucknam palace!!!!!!
