heh.. that's why my tank is clear. if you have a wet/dry bio sump filtration system, there's enough bacteria in the filter to break down leftover foods. That is why I don't need gravel. my tank looks nice the way it is, plain lol. anyways, if you don't keep up with water changes, ammonia easily build up in the gravel then you'll have a high level of nitrates when the bacteria breaks it down. that's why in most monster fish keeper's tanks, they don't have gravel. FYI :)

A 55gallon tank will NOT be enough to keep peacock bass in. Lol you might be able to get away with one big one or a few smaller ones, but they'll eventually outgrow the tank.

@khmerkrazie hey dude...do u know that gravels play a big part in nitrogen cycle? aquarium bacteria like to live in the gravel..

looks like they're confused lol. cuz when they do get couple goldfish, they also get a mouthful of rocks too haha. i leave the pebbles out in my tank. less cleaning too. all i needa do is change the water
