I love Mos Def. And Def Jam poetry.Sometimes it's hard for me to understand what people are referring to when they use a completely different term to address it. I'm just not sure what the "poem" represented. I thought it was a man at first, but I really don't know.
I love the way she addresses every facet of the African American life, and uses that throughout her poem. She addresses these things without being morose and because of that I enjoyed it even more.
This poem shows the genius work of Nikki Giovanni. She personifies a poem and puts it in situations that you do not notice it is in. It is unique how she tells of a voice that you do not realize it already has.
In the next poem I love the way she wrote a poem about a poem! This was such an inspiring poem, I don’t feel poems should be long; they should be short sweet and to the point and that is exactly what Nikki Giovanni poems does. -gebria b
I love the personification of the poem in this poem. I feel like she is just saying that poems have a personality of their own, but that it's just the personality that person writing it has.

Nikki writes with the use of personification and her deliverance of the poem was outstanding.

wow... I loved the delivery of the poem because of her use of a poem as a character that resembles the life of an African american.

Her poem is simply inspiring and well-addresses the different aspects of people's lives through the personification of a poem.
