First video. yay! Shoddy video. boo! Long description. boo. Sorry everyone. ^^;

And please ignore the last two minutes of silent blackness. Windows Movie Maker tacked on those two minutes to the end of the vid for some reason. Anybody know how I can get rid of that?

I had to make a video for my Spanish class on the subject of Don Quijote, the beloved character of Cervantes. It had to have simple, basic spanish narration because my teacher wants to use the class's videos to teach future beginner-spanish classes.

Rough English Translation:
"Don Quijote" is the story of a man that wants to be a knight errant.

The author is Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra. He was a novelist, poet, and playwright.

Cervante's book, "Don Quijote," is considered one of the best novels ever written.

In the story, Don Quijote and his companion, Sancho Panza, go on many adventures.

Don Quijote is old and thin, and Sancho Panza is short and fat.

Don Quijote has read many books about knights and he wants to be a knight too.

He pledges himself to the lady of his dreams, Dulcinea. Don Quijote would fight all the evils of the world for her.

One adventure is when Don Quijote and Sancho Panza find the windmills. Don Quijote thinks that the windmills are giants and attacks them.

Don Quijote crashes into the windmills. Don Quijote says that the evil magicians turned the giants into windmills. Don Quijote was hurt, but he and Sancho continued traveling.

Don Quijote follows his impossible dream, his quest to do the impossible and vanquish the wrongs of the world. Obstacles aren't important. Only his dream of making the world a better place is important to him.

I apologize to any spanish-speakers out there if I said something incorrectly. I know the english translation isn't exact either.

Made in Windows Movie Maker.

Neither the music nor the pictures are mine. I repeat, I do not own any of the music or any of the pictures.

Music:
"Overture" pieces - Man of La Mancha (musical)
"The Brig" - The Road to El Dorado - (c) Dreamworks
"Sueño Impossible" - Misterios Gloriosos, el Sagrago Rosario

the various pictures - ... I don't know if it's necessary to show all the sites that I got the pictures from, but I will anyways since none of them were mine.
in order:

again, I don't know if I needed to make that list or not, but you'll forgive me if I just want to make sure that my first video doesn't get removed, as I need to be able to show it to my teacher ^^;

  • I had to say/memorize this too! Quite a few years ago like, 9, 10, or 11th grade(graduated in 07.)? I still remember the difference between Don Quijote and Sancho Panza... lol. Not much else with 3 years of Spanish has stuck with me, sad to say. Lots of congregating and not much speaking at all was taught.

  • great!!amazing

  • English please!!!!

  • Do it again, but say the lines instead of reading them. You selected excellent images.
