@fearwar I definitely recommend visiting the LAPD Museum. I've been there twice, and on both occassions, I was able to get into the cars and helicopter. You can also go inside the old jail cells in the main building. From what I recall, the price of admission is $10 for adults.

@RickySouthwell The museum is located in the Highland Park neighborhood of L.A., which is just northeast of downtown. The street address is 6045 York Boulevard. Before the building was turned into a museum, it was an old police station. You can actually go inside the jail cells if you visit.
