North Korean Poster Exhibition (January 2012)

Pyongyang, January 6 (KCNA) -- A poster exhibition was opened with due ceremony at the Pyongyang International Cultural House on Friday to implement the decision of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, the joint calls of the Central Committee and the Central Military Commission of the WPK and the militant tasks set forth in the joint New Year editorial.

Displayed in the venue of the exhibition are more than 80 posters presented by the Mansudae Art Studio, the Korean Central Fine Arts Studio, the Fine Arts Studio of the Ministry of Railways and the Pyongyang University of Fine Arts.

The posters "The great leader Comrade Kim Jong Il will always be with us" and "Glorify this year 2012 as a year of proud victory, a year when an era of prosperity is unfolding, true to the instructions of the great General Kim Jong Il"! reflected the faith and will of all the service personnel and the people to hold him in high esteem for all ages and glorify his revolutionary life and feats forever.

Posters "Let us devotedly defend the Party Central Committee headed by the dear respected Comrade Kim Jong Un!", "Let us successfully carry forward and accomplish the revolutionary cause of Juche started in Mt. Paektu generation after generation!" and others deal with the determination of all service personnel and people to dynamically advance toward the new victory of the Juche revolution under the leadership of Kim Jong Un, the supreme leader of the WPK and the people.

Posters depicted the tasks facing various sectors of the national economy to be carried out this year in response to the WPK's grand strategy for prosperity.

Among them are posters of diverse themes. -0-

Another point I wish to bring up -- it would be equally insane to expect Kim Jong Un to automatically be a competent man in this small time frame based on his inaction alone, as it would be to expect him to blunder for this very reason.

I do hope you understand that I remain virulently pro-DPRK and pro-Juche, I'm just uncertain of the future under Kim Jong Un -- not AGAINST his leadership. Naturally, were he not appointed, a worse vaccum would've materialized. But for now, we must remain vigilant towards any developments for good or for bad.

If time does indeed reveal himself to be the spoiled brat I suspect him to be, then you do owe me an apology, no matter how late into his tenure that happens to be.

I would like to think of him as a political intruigist well-versed in works of both Marxist and Kimist thought-schools, but his education wasn't the most Korean, and was far from the most communist or revolutionary, as even intra-DPRK sources acknowledge.

@RaymondLikesMen For my part, I think it's inane to jump to wild conclusions only a few weeks into his tenure as Supreme Leader. I'm looking forward to when he lays out a comprehensive political line, as well as witnessing the material effects of his policies. If time reveals him to be a spoiled brat, I'll be right alongside you hanging my head in shame -- but patience is the proper mindset until then.

@RaymondLikesMen Bear in mind, that you are more than welcome to that opinion. For valid reason, the DPRK is a mysterious country in many ways. Some things are bound to engender confusion. I'm merely stating that it would be much more prudent to wait a few years and build a more comprehensive judgement of Kim Jong-un. Also bear in mind that his youth gives the DPRK a considerable advantage over its neighbors in stability, longevity, and energy of their leader.
