the big this is awesome. I read how to books years ago and they were using chicken wire and newspaper waded up and then covered with light crete concrete but this looks so much easier and simple. Thanks

Actually my track is laid on cork road bed which is in turn laid on 3/4 inch ply wood. check out my personal website for pictures on what I did. I use a thin layer of Elmers Squeeze n Caulk to secure the track.

it seems you have laid your track on top of a few inches of foam. do track nails hold well enough in foam or is there another way to hold it. love the vids, they will help my son and i build his first trains set.

was wondering! you really have had to be in the mountains and seen how stuff looks naturally. Do you worry about boulders and such?

@tgd1947 Not necessarily. You can get a lot of info from a good set of pictures. There's still a lot of details i need to add.

Where Can you buy Extruded Foam at? I was unable to find anything larger than 1/2 inch thick

@Trainkid24 Are you located in the south? Thicker sheets may be harder to come by there.
