Another fine piece of vocal and pianistic art from Spain. Cuban pianist and composer Joaquín Nin, Havana 1879-Havana 1949, found it and included it in his colection of ´20 cantos populares españoles`, 1923. By the way, he was the father of Anais Nin . El vito (=some coin) has overt sexual insinuations. Did this thing run into the family? Lol !
Victoria de los Angeles and Gerald Moore at their best and the best recording of this work, 1953. It is a fondamentalist remark, I recognise, but I think I am right ! lol
In Mexico, I got acquainted with the sensuous geometry of Sebastián´s sculptures. His ´anillo conspicuo`, 1993, illustrates this video. His Caballo is one of the landmarks of the Mexico city. Enrique Carbajal (b.1947 in Ciudad Camargo) is his real name, Renaissance-Duchamp-Brancusi-Moore his references. Maybe the most famous mexican sculptor worldwide.
Enjoy
Toll! But...
Joaquín Nin was not a cuban pianist. He was from Spain, from Cataluña. It's true he was born in Cuba, but Cuba was then still spanish. When Cuba became free, he returned Europa (Spain, France). He was a great exponentof spanish music.

Gorgeous - Victoria's voice is so rich and velvety here. And of course she's on 'home territory'!
