UPDATE: Gov. Henry signed HB 1804 into law on May 8. I don't think that she's saying it hasn't been an issue, I think what she's saying is that the number of illegal immigrants has not grown to the point that warrants the amount of press coverage it's getting lately.

Where has she been? This has been an issue for years. Just because the media didn't mention it doesn't mean it didn't exist. Illegal immigration being here drops wages for americans who compete for jobs. The jobs don't pay reasonable rates, that's why people don't do the jobs. Corporations benefit. Not americans.
