Really?! 7grain bread, almond butter (which I love but is pricey), and snack foods? Look, when people need to rely on govt aid to feed themselves and their families, I don't think it's a huge stretch to purchase white bread as opposed to a cottage wheat. The goal is to eat something, not be able to buy all nice food with no HFCS. I love Tiffany's, but sometimes all you can afford is the ring in the Crackerjack Box. (BTW, if you all have Dollar Trees, they sell cottage wheat bread for a dollar.
Wouldn't it be cheaper to use crushed canned tomatoes instead of spaghetti sauce and buy a brick of cheese and shred it yourself? I thought that food stamps were allotted a month at a time. This would allow bulk buying. If you were able to buy in bulk you could invest in the ingredients to make home-made whole wheat bread.
Food Stamps are only a supplement–an addition-a bonus
If you are truly compromised you need to skip the snack(cheezits) and fad foods (7 grain) The “food stamp challenge” is lame because asit was not meant to be your whole food budget. 2 jars of salted Almonds? tsk tsk
What happened to a 50# bag of beans for $26 and 50# bag of rice for $36 and 50# bag of flour and 50# bag of popcorn for $16 and a Sam’s club membership is a one time expense $35 & save

Bread's a pretty good deal even at $3.00. One loaf can feed 8 people.

Pretty good but the first thing is that:
