  • Really?! 7grain bread, almond butter (which I love but is pricey), and snack foods? Look, when people need to rely on govt aid to feed themselves and their families, I don't think it's a huge stretch to purchase white bread as opposed to a cottage wheat. The goal is to eat something, not be able to buy all nice food with no HFCS. I love Tiffany's, but sometimes all you can afford is the ring in the Crackerjack Box. (BTW, if you all have Dollar Trees, they sell cottage wheat bread for a dollar.

  • Bread's a pretty good deal even at $3.00. One loaf can feed 8 people.

  • Wouldn't it be cheaper to use crushed canned tomatoes instead of spaghetti sauce and buy a brick of cheese and shred it yourself? I thought that food stamps were allotted a month at a time. What happened to a 50# bag of beans for $26 and 50# bag of rice for $36 and 50# bag of flour and 50# bag of popcorn for $16 and a Sam’s club membership is a one time expense $35 & save
