Most people forget most African Americans voted Republican prior to Roosevelt who did offer help to everyone in the depression and ensured bigots couldn't get government contracts. All good things, but Republicans helped push through civil rights legislation in congress.

In American every citizen gets a chance to make it happen for themselves and if that isn't the case we aspire to make it that way.
