Vikings Vs Lions Face Mask No Call

The Vikings started the game behind 21-0. They rallied back to being down by 6 with less then 10 seconds left at the one yard line, when Joe Webb is very clearly pulled down by his face mask, the referees don't call anything.

Ok, we all know that the ball came out before the facemask, but that doesn't make the play legal. If it were legal, then anytime a running back or anyone fumbled it, all nearby defense would throw him to the ground by the facemask so he can't pick it up

look again, he didn't have possession of the ball when the face mask occurred. its only a facemask if you have control of the ball, good no call

It's called being biased and hypocritical. Ever since Favre joined our team, the NFL has secretly hated us. Why do you think we got screwed at least 7 times IN A ROW in the NFC championship. Every Viking fan watching that game KNEW we were getting screwed out of a win, yet the NFL does nothing but send a "formal apology". I swear, I've noticed at least one thing in EVERY game since the NFC title game where the Vikings are being screwed over.

I don't know why anyone would diss the vikings. No Adrian Peterson, and a second string quarterback comes in, and for a couple quarters, beats the Piss out of a 10-6 team. Vikings have character.

@CptKetchup07 BigWillie is right, he just said it wrong. The quarterback lost possession making it a fumbled ball therefore a face mask is legal so to answer your question, yes a lineman could hold a face mask if the ball was fumbled.

Any contact to the helmet of the quarterback is a flag, regardless if he has the ball or not.
