Mike Pence talked with Heidi Collins about the health-care system overhaul proposed by Nancy Pelosi on CNN today, calling it a "freight train of big government." Republicans want to help reform the system to drive down costs, Pence says, but the Democrats are going in the wrong direction.

  • On the bottom of the screen in this video, it said cash for clunkers cost us taxpayers $24.000 per vehicle. Just a good indication on how this will work.

  • Actually it IS government takeover.

  • you have got to be kidding me mangina. The tea party people are marxist? You are so misinformed. Demanding honest politicians that serve the people not corporations is totally anti-marxist. You know what, after looking at your profile, I realize your not worth arguing with. It is rather unfortunate that so many Americans are misguided on the principals of our country, and when citizens stand up for the rights we have in this country, there is always some dumb blind sheep that try and mock it

  • "The fact that you even believe this democratic(er communist)" Currently the closest thing to communism going in this country are the pseudo-libertarian collectivists who gather in little circle jerks and claim that the country is becoming socialist. Teabaggers. Amazing that the very things that motivate the teabaggers are the things Marx said would cause a revolution of the proletariat. They are practically quoting Marx out there, they're just too stupid to realize it.

  • The fact that you even believe this democratic(er communist) plan will remain fiscally in check is ridiculous. These democrats are so out of touch with reality. I still find it unbelievable Americans think a 2000 page bill is necessary for health care change. Mangina, you are obviously one of the blind followers, because since when has a govt program actually remained its original cost? It has always ballooned in cost. You are absolutely ignorant.

  • "Tort reform is actually a pretty big deal. the reason why it looks so minimal is because of the insane politicians trillion dollar budget"

This sentence is so ridiculously stupid that I don't know where to start in addressing it.

"There is no way our country can afford this and no there is no tort reform in the bill. "

Afford what, health care that saves money on health care by reducing national GDP expenditure from 17% to 12.5%? Please reveal the source of your ignorance, I'm curious.

  • This is hilarious.....tort reform is minimal? Tort reform is actually a pretty big deal. the reason why it looks so minimal is because of the insane politicians trillion dollar budget. There is no way our country can afford this and no there is no tort reform in the bill. Obama can say whatever he wants about tort reform, it would not be the first time he lied about something. It is amazing you continue to argue for these criminal politicians.

  • "They all have lobbyists, try and see past your narrow partisan sight and elect some real people to take their jobs."

No politician can get elected without lobbyists. Ron Paul has lobbyists. Sorry to break that to you darling. A "lobby" is just a coalition of people giving money to influence a certain issue. There are good lobbies, there are bad lobbies, there are weak lobbies, there are lobbies so firmly entrenched as to be considered branches of congress.

  • "You are so ignorant .....You dont think Obama has lobbyists in his corner?"

Well of course he does. The question that is probably more important is "Is tort reform really as much of an issue?" The alleged savings from "tort reform" are exceptionally minimal (making it a bandaid issue meant to rile up the gullible and desperate-for-a-counterargument team which you blindly row for). Oddly enough, Obama has voiced support for tort reform. So I'm sorry to say, you have no ground to walk on.

  • Republicans have been trying to block HC reform from the beginning, and they all read from the same playbook of scare tactics & misinformation.

The insuance co's and their paid help, Republicans have always protected the insurance companies, by using the same tactics " calling it "gov't takeover", and it has always worked. If America blows it's chances of reform again, the nation should hang it's collective in shame.

  • " Republicans want to help reform the system to drive down costs, "

Really? Funny, they controlled congress for an awfully long time. They've never ventured to come up with any kind of solutions. The bills they propose to not justify this assertion.

    The GOP is useless.
