When First Lady Michelle Obama made child obesity her signature issue, she challenged the food industry to reduce added sugar, salt and fat. The White House sought healthier school lunches, and Congress directed federal agencies to set nutrition standards. Here's how the food industry fought back. (April 27, 2012)

Why don't we just call lobbying what it really is: bribery.

Kids wouldn't be obese if they were allowed to go outside and play.

I'll eat what I like. Go bother the kids in Africa who got their legs blown off by land mines.

I agree. Instead of spending money on pointless bills and war efforts. Bring back the troops home, because the war is draining our economy.

We don't need more government involvement in our lives. If the government wants to spend money, spend it on education of the parents and the children which I believe the Let's Move campaign is a step in the right direction. If people don't buy the products that aren't good for you then the products wont exist.

Far more complicated than that. Kids are consuming more than twice the calories they used to, often with more sugar and salt in the food than they're supposed to have. There are also poverty issues creating access difficulties in getting healthy food. Look up the term "food desert" for reference.
