It's a Seaforth 24 footer, built by Precision Boat Works in Sarasota Florida. Originally it had a Renault engine, but most of the owners that I've run accross have replace what is reportedly a poor choice of engine, with a Yanmar. Many, including mine, has an outboard well instead of the inboard. I would love to see more photos or videos of this nifty little crusier. And the design is based on the lifeboar designs used on such ships as the Titanic, that accounts for the familiarity of the shape.
The hull type's been around since the 19th century. It's known as a double ender. I think there still made in Europe. & maybe SufiBuddhist right? Could be some kind of conversion.

The one in my dad's boat has a nasty knock just off idle in neutral. Goes away if you bring the RPM up or down a bit.
Funny thing is, its pretty new, maybe 100 hours... I have no experience with the Volvo though.

Sounds nothing like a Yanmar, but an awful lot like a Volvo Penta MD5 (one cylinder)
My Yanmars have been a lot smoother than the Volvo Pentas
