My wild Canadian goose (a gander) fights off about thirty wild turkeys in order to keep them away from the pond area. It is HIS and his GOOSE'S pond, and he does not let anyone or anything near the pond. I am fortunate enough to be able to watch all action from my kitchen windows, but filmed this outside. It is the first time I have used my brand new Costco Canon webcam! And my first "movie"; well, sort of a movie! I will get better at this. Kathy

  • Thanks so much SAM...I do a lot of work outside!!!

  • Thanks so much Sweetie. Ask your parents for a turkey for your birthday! If you have the land for it.

I think it would be quite hard to domesticate them since I would have to go through at least three or four generations. And I would have to cage them, and then worry about the eggs and predators.

They are wild, and they can now roost in the numerous trees I have for safety at night. The five biggest Toms stay on my property year-round, but the hens come and go.

  • how lucky you are to have such a wonderful yard. i admire the hard work i am sure it requires

  • Thanks so much. No one (even friends) ever tell me that! They think the property maintains its "Park-like" condition on its own! LOL! Your comment means a lot to me...Kathy
