Here is the last video of my Nokia N82 playing quake 3. This one I show myself fighting 2 computers using the TV-Out cable while playing as a Homer Simpson Character.

  • how much fps is that getting you cant really read it

  • @defragen1 on this level it was between 19 - 24fps

  • do you happen to know the refresh rate for the phone screen?

  • @defragen1 I'm really unsure what the screen's refresh rate is, I'm guessing just a normal 60hz?

Everything does seem really smooth on it tho.

As for quake 3, there are some levels when I get 29 - 33 fps.

The n82 and the N95 8GB were the last of nokia's phone that used the hardware acceleration. I guess they assumed there was no point in putting it in the newer devices, as it was used for pretty much nothing. It's really too bad, cuz games like quake 3 can be played with it, as you can see.

  • @defragen1 actually they got 80hz, coz on my phone, i remember there was one game that used graphics chip and went up to 80fps and it looked way ´smoother than games that are 60fps

  • hello I have a question goes camerafoto Cable TV?

  • how to make 3rd person view? I was doing exactly the same by the way, i mean Homer in Q3 but on N95 8GB :)

Is it normal that on bigger maps with about 4 bots game is slow as hell (about 7fps sometimes)? Do you know that you can edit bots AI? Its easy and you can change stuff like reaction time, accuracy and maybe even moving speed - Im not sure about that. Im gonna try it this weekend. It would be so much better on phone if they move slower :)

  • can you configure it to work with a ps3 pad do you know i reckon that would be quite good on tv i gonna go nd compare n82 quake 3 to dreamcast now

  • lol 60hz didnt know phones have a normal refresh rate of 60

    thats pretty insane
