After dividing the Cymbidium it will not have any roots so it should not be watered. You want the plant to start producing roots a.s.a.p. so let it look for water. Make sure the compost you use is moist (not wet) and do not water for three to four weeks after repotting, (and then only sparingly). In very hot conditions, you can spray the leaves if you are concerned that it is getting too dry.

Increase watering as the roots grow.
