Tommy Rocks!!!!! !!!!! !!!!!! If there was any drummer in the world that I would want to jam with----- it would be Tommy!!! My dream would be to play " Over the Mountain" with you( Tommy) on drums. The best!!!
Thin Lizzy is for sure not Thin Lizzy without Phil Lynott. Nice to see the music continue though. As far as Tommy Aldridge.......well I am a big Black Oak Arkansas fan and he was their drummer. He went on to play with a lot of great bands and is still out there. He IS without a doubt one of THE, IF NOT THE......greatest rock and roll drummers of all time. As you can see here, his solos are unreal!!!
Tommy is ok.Nothing spectacular in my opinion, and the playing with his hands instead of sticks,is about dumb.So what? There are a lot better drummers out there than Tommy. This isn't Thin Lizzy either.Without Phil Lynott, there is no Thin Lizzy.
That is a drum set, you can't even see him. I have seen Tommy live in stadium concerts in the 80's and always watched him.... he reminds me of Animal of the Muppet's on the drum kit. As a drummer I never was a fan of big drum solos. I like solos in the context of a song, 8 or 12 or 24 bars but not 5 minutes long.
.
Sadly this is not Thin Lizzy.... with out the lead singer and bass player. Loved loved Thin Lizzy in the day. Jail Break, Boys are Back in Town....
What are the pieces Tommy has mounted in front of both Bass drums? Any body know who manufactures them and exactly what purpose they serve? I've been playing for many years but just never noticed these till lately.
FINALLY! Someone who knows who Jim is! haha, I salute you my friend! I'm 18 and even I know who the guy is. pops is a huge black oak fan, and Tommy is the master for sure. Kinda makes you say Lars who?
