@helirious I can fly in the clouds IFR ,Sorry I was not more clear, I do not wish to ban anything, I am a life long r/c er myself. all i am saying is guys need to think about who else could be in the clouds with their r/c planes.
i had to have a dent in the leading edge repaired and the wing tip repainted.Oh and needed a new pair of shorts as I nearly soiled mine when i was bumping down the glideslope and all of a sudden BAM off the right wing tip...
@kreepark1 Yes, you're right and people flying these things should be very carefull and responsible. But just ban the whole hobby together in stead of trying to catch the stupid irresponsible few? Compare that to the laws on weaponry, whouldn't it be better to ban al those as wel? Just some (other) attempts to be anoying :-D > A. 1800 isn't that bad actually? What got damaged? And B. So the weather was to poor for you to fly in first person, but the r/c guy could? :-)) Good you came out alive.
@helirious I was on an instrument approach a couple summers ago in pretty poor weather and hit an r/c plane with my fullscale plane. The FAA investigated the incident and eventually found the person flying the r/c plane,I am not sure what happened to them, but as a life long r/cer myself I was pretty unhappy with them being so careless..not to mention the $1800.00 repair bill to my Arrow....
This is a good way to give RC a serious black eye. Car crash or worse caused by RC plane flown at night with on board video. All the grumpy white haired women unite to convince politicians to ban all RC flying in the U.S. The politicians could conceivably comply. Don't fly over residential areas. Keep them within the confines of the park or get out of town where you have some open space.
That is really cool, you have a lot of balls to fly that at night!
