  • shit son! I like Yuja's better, but not by much. You hear more here.

  • @hymnofashes I wouldn't say better or not better, they are both 2 great pianists!!

  • Oh yes! It's finally here! Can you upload the Scriabin sonata, too?

  • @chobeethaninov I haven't got it, and I didn't find it on the Internet, sorry. But I'm uploading the entire stravinskij!

  • I just came here from the Yuja Wang performance, and this is infinitely better. Much better sense of syncopation, of voice differentiation and color, of dynamics, of scalar sweep and motion-- it's just superior on every level. Thanks, Evgeny, for a fantastic performance of a really difficult piece!

  • @Geisterschiff Yes agreed. I spent alot of time with him personally since he is a close friend of Di Bonaventura my teacher from Boston U. I have an old LP signed

  • @hymnofashes Right - thinking same thing

  • If I have to choose ONLY ONE to take to a desert island I choose maestro Pollini. 42 years elapsed and I am still in love with that DG 1970 recording not to mentions his Prokofiev seventh on the other side...Since then many other beautiful readings of Petrouchka appeared and I like them all but the maestro...

  • I am absolutely floored by this interpretation every time I hear it, such polyphonic clarity and impeccable technique... even so, I find the technical brilliance disappears as the music itself is essentially brought to the forefront. It's hard not to imagine the visuals of a dance with him playing this!

  • He has an odd hairstyle.

  • Belle mani, ottima agilità, tecnica completa e vasta.

  • @andriventu Well, they are quite noticeably different. I prefer this one. It sounds... hmmm... more powerful, maybe. I can't put a finger on it.
