Logic Pro 9 project with 140 audio tracks and over 10 plugins on each track.
New iMac handles it quite well

Apple iMac 21,5 inch
Intel Quad Core i5 @ 2,5 GHz
12 GB DDR3 (upgraded)
500 GB HD

  • What the fuck? Why dont you use busses? Shit

  • @laurawhiteside66 Of Course I do, this is just to test the processing power...

  • fuck :) my pc lags when I play 8 tracks simultaneously :O

  • @Kamilk12l

So did my old PC :) It should have been a powerhouse (quadcore processor, 8 gigs ram etc.) but it was just a pain in the ass

  • I use an ASUS laptop for recording (I'm tired of strugling with pc. Nothing just works for long) and was considering an iMac. I was concerned that it might not be powerfull enough and I would need the mac pro which I can't afford. This video gives me hope that an iMac is appropriate. Anyone know if this line is due for an update? I'd rather not buy one and find out they have new ones in a month. thx.

  • @caworkstation i agree, its only accessing 1 file on the HD also they are all logics plugins, you wouldn't do that running instruments, different audio files, automation and third party plugs.

  • I have recently moved from pc to imac. With the pc I learnt there were settings you may change in order to make the pc run better for music production. Are there similar settings you may change on an imac?

  • yo nice im getting a imac for music for making beats and making mixtapes and all that would the imac MC309LL/A 21.5-Inch be good for it and i wont have to buy any extra stuff to get great sounding quality ??

  • its running fine cause its the same audio on all 140 ch...try running different instrument tracks on all 140ch with different effects...then u'll see the difference.

  • You see, this is why I want a mac.

  • Optimised software #FTW lol
