  • Thanks for the comment. You can't go wrong with semi-gloss paint. I got mine at Tractor Supply, it was $17 for a gallon.

  • I don't mean to be insulting, it's hard to convey my thoughts exactly with text as opposed to tone of voice, but I'm curious about something I noticed. Headers seem to be sitting pretty low to the ground but the frame doesn't; wouldn't happen to be a big block hiding in there would there?

  • The car has pretty short tires. I'm sure the coil springs in the front are getting weak. Its funny you mentioned a big block. I do have one in my garage and I should have used it instead of the 406.

  • I don't know about that, 406 has a nice sound to it. Only reason I asked is my dad had a 55 sedan delivery with a 454 and and had the same issue with headers. Had to be careful pulling in and out of the driveway because the ground was just the right angle that if you weren't turning just right you'd head the scrape of metal on pavement. Is the red on the driver's side fender a decal I can't read or did you have to patch it? Seems like kind of a weird place for it to rust; second I've seen there.

  • I have problems with the cutouts dragging. I didn't realize there would clearance issues with the frame until I got them. What you see on the car is decals. I have another video that is called Chevy 406 with Dart heads you should check out. The 57 has a few different decals on it and the motor is beefed up more. I plan on taking it down the strip in a couple of weeks.

  • LOVE the ride!!!! Nothin sounds better than a small block uncorked. I can see this car on a dirt road with a trunk load of shine and cops eatin the dust!! (Thanks again for the comment on my vid)

  • Thanks! The old body isn't real good on this car, so I thought I would spray on some semi gloss primer and add a few racing decals. When I get some money saved back one day, I would like to restore it and paint it back its original colors.

  • I'm building a 57 4 door right now with a 283 powerpack and 3 on the tree. I'm painting mine semigloss black. It's too far from perfect to put an expensive paint job on her right now. Maybe someday. Nice video

  • Thanks! I could use it if they ever wanted to make a remake of Christine!

  • Beasty looking. It looks like a haunted car in scary movie.
