I wanna say that if I were the concubine's father I so would've had that bastard strung up by his toenails and flogged until he as dead as revenge for throwing my daughter to a bunch of gangbangers... but I'm too nice and don't believe in revenge. At least not revenge resulting in more death. Killing the Levite wouldn't bring my daughter back after all, but there's other things I, as an angry dad, could do...

Pickings are pretty slim in the Old Testament for stories safe to tell children, and even those must be carefully edited.
