My name is Cory Ricks. I'm from New Orleans, Louisiana and I was a
Hurricane Katrina evacuee. The first thing I thought about losing was
my family. The second thing was my notebook, 'cause that was my prize
possession. I'm actually an artist. When I get on stage I work the
crowd. So that's basically what I am. I have found most of my family
but as far as friends, I haven't gotten in contact...its been almost two
years now.There was this point where I was down and depressed like,
"You know what? I'm going to quit." But I prayed a lot. I just knew
that something better was going to happen for me. The whole ordeal
taught me that I can accomplish anything by keeping God first. As long
as I be sincere to people, I can overcome any obstacle.
