@vishyvikranth Mate can I just say, it is really refreshing to have a passionatee cricket fan that can hold a civil, well written argument. Congrats for not attacking me with profanity and racism, as so many others have on other posts. All I'm after is a that the game of cricket not suffer because of any crap on any one countries behalf, and India are starting to show signs of being that country these days. I agree with everything you say. Lets hope for common sense to prevail!

@tazziedevil123 But then again, even in countries like America where the player associations are strong, we have seen them lockout (refuse to play) a full season, only to wilt under the pressure (financial) and cave in to the demands of the owners / boards. All I'm saying is that money does the ultimate talking and in the process the sports becomes a pure business, sad that this is the way the world works in our 'modern' times. I don't see a solution tbh.

@tazziedevil123 I really wish the players could stand up against their boards with regards to scheduling. Too much of cricket is being played in too many formats and the sad thing is that Test Cricket is the one format suffering. In India when the captain himself spoke against it, the board merely suggested him and other senior players to take a break and replaced them for the series. The only way to turn this around is through players banding together refusing to play.

@tazziedevil123 Well I know how powerless ICC is, and I absolutely am against any single board dominating the ICC. For one, I hate the way Test cricket has been pushed back (Test Championship) and I have to blame BCCI and ACB for their greed in this matter. But, point is nobody can do a thing about it, the players associations of other sports are powerful enough to challenge their respective boards, but this aint the same in cricket.

@vishyvikranth OK, point well made. But why does anybody have to bully anybody? The point Michael Holding is trying to make is that there needs to be a governing body above ALL cricket boards, similar to FIFA in soccer, that has total control over all cricket boards. It is fair to say that due to the revenue India generate, they have become bullies, and are far too arrogant. No country, money or not, should dictate the game. It is the powerless ICC, and the way it is exploited, that annoys me.

@tazziedevil123 Just wait for the old timers of BCCI (who were the ones humiliated in times past) to leave, just like how the rest of the world had to wait for the snobbish, 'elitist' aristocrats from England and Australia to leave. Good luck until then.
-
@tazziedevil123 We do and we also helplessly viewed the 'great white nations' aka England and Australia dominate ICC for half a decade, arguing against neutral umpires, 8 balls an over, body-line bowling etc. while at the same time insulting other boards all the time. Times have changed mate, tables have turned, whether you like it or not the new bully in the town is India and they contribute 66% of the total revenue of ICC.

I have a serious question for all Indian cricket fans. Now I am a fan of several Indian players, I am not racist. I even proudly display Tendulkar's autograph in my collection, and have fond memories of meeting him. But tell me, can you, in all honesty, tell us that your board doesn't have too much power in the game? Can you argue that technology would not make a positive impact on decision accuracy? With all due respect do you realise that your board is mocked and laughed at all over the world?
Bcci can go screw itself, I barely watch cricket anymore these days and soon it will be only 1 billion Indians remaining cricket audience and even then they aren't able to fill up half of the stadium for a test match.

@esppsp Yes It really is a Farce. I agree that BCCI is the bully and they are wrong with what they have done related to IPL. However, if you look at this particular video, they are criticizing its stance on DRS. Their arguments are flawed and aimed just to win public applause. Even if you see the other parts of this video, all three of them (Sanga/Holding/Host) speak things which seem sensational but are actually pointless and downright lies. That is why i said, this whole show is a FARCE
