As we all know data is not static. It is constantly changing, constantly moving and just moving data from one place to another is a simple enough task. In this session Brad will explore how to use SSIS to connect to a variety of different data sources and destinations such as Excel, SQL Server, Oracle and Flat Files. He will then discuss some of the DOs and DON'Ts of the SSIS ETL world. We will discuss ways to use SSIS to do a simple data dump, keep tables in sync, do incremental loads, deal with very large data sets that you may not be able to handle all in memory, and bring multiple sources into one destination. Other topics to be covered include the types of transforms (partially blocking vs fully blocking), which transforms are right for which jobs and which transforms to avoid if you want your data to get moved quickly and efficiently.

  • Thumbs up because you were fast and got to the session. Mini-troll because you have a letter box view, like you watched A River Runs Through It too many times and decided to exercise your cinematic tastes in YouTube. Your mic sucks too.
