Update:
This was my 2nd Kael'thas solo kill. I've been soloing him roughly every week, and now approach phase 4 and 5 of this fight very differently, making the fight much easier and less dependent on luck. Any fury warriors attempting to solo Kael'thas should incorporate these changes into their attempts. (I've also been using my normal PVE raiding gear, so going out of your way to find alternate weapons to get mending is not necessary.)

Phase 1-3:
Not much has changed. Do what's done in the video, and be sure to loot the Staff of Disintegration after killing weapons.

Phase 4:
(Be sure to have Enraged Regeneration and Rallying Cry available for this phase. Use both if you fall to roughly 30% health.)
After killing Thaladred, equip the staff (don't forget to use it.) and wait for Kael. Engage Kael roughly where I do, then when he casts his arcane disrupt, switch to your main weapons, blow all your cooldowns, and nuke him, interupting as many fireballs as you can. When he summons his phoenix, stop interupting since he'll be casting Pyroblast very soon (I've had a few attempts where pummel wasn't available for the first pyroblast.)

After interupting pyroblast, he'll usually instantly cast arcane disrupt. Use a pvp trinket or Every Man for Himself, and keep nuking. After about 15 seconds, he should be very close to phase pushing. You may need to equip the Staff and use it so you don't get caught in another arcane disrupt.

Phase 5:
Kill phoenixes while Kael is running, and bandage up. You should be able to bandage twice and get full health here. Eventually you'll be ported to Kael'thas. Swim away to roughly where you killed Thaladred. After landing, he'll cast one or two more netherbeams at you. Wait for these to land before you use a bandage. At this point you just need to use your staff before Kael'thas casts his disrupt, kite far away during gravity lapses, and he'll eventually go down. (You should have enraged regen and rallying cry again if you need them)

  • Hi, I'm trying this myself. What's the specc you're using here? I see you have Die by the Sword, Blood Craze and Second Wind. What do you skip? Executioner and Rude Interruption? I'm currently getting to P4 with full health every time, so I don't think I need Second Wind atleast. But I'm getting outdpsed by his fireballs in P4. Got myself 2xMending now so will try it out again and see if I can do better.

  • @latiosbat If you check my armory, I use my 10/31/0 spec for this fight. My build does skip Executioner and Rude Interruption, but Die by the Sword is worthless for this fight (since dying to a melee attack is very unlikely.) Rude Interruption would be more useful here, but not required.

I've updated the video description with how I engage phase 4 and 5 now, if you want to give that strat a try.

  • @ ticklemanteehee

did you use special gear, except the 2x Mending enchant?

  • @Thantaros85

Other than stacking expertise as close as I could to the hard cap, (and downgraded mending weapons.) I just used my normal dps gear.

Expertise pieces I used were a few rings, unreforged Heroic Heart of Rage, and Mirror of Broken Images reforged into expertise. (I'm not sure if resistance works on Kael'thas, but I think it works on Capernian, which can be very helpful.)

  • @ticklemanteehee

resi should work on kael's casts as well

..i have the problem that kael's stun and his pyro cast are pretty close together, making it impossible for me to destroy his shield... i saw in your video that you avoided the first stun behind a wall. Every time i try, he isn't casting it at all at this moment...do you use a trick at this point? or is it just coincidence?

  • @Thantaros85

At that point, I lucked out and his arcane disrupt missed :P

I should also mention that if you aren't a human, a pvp trinket is a must for arcane disrupt.

On my current Kael kills, I've been looting the Staff of Disintegration. Having it equipped and right clicking/using it will make you to become immune to his arcane disrupt. After he casts it you can then switch back to your normal weapons and nuke him. Then if he casts it again, you can trinket the next one.

  • @GENESlSM He doesn't Mind Control if there's only one person.

  • Nice job! Trying this so far and being unsuccessful (but doing a regular fight in the room). Might have to try it moving around then.

  • He doesn't seem to get Mind Controlled...

  • Wow thanks for this, I consider myself to be quite an avid soloer but even I thought this wouldn't be doable in current gear. How long did it take you to get this down pat?

  • second time i fight the mage i just get conflaged to death... any help would be great. cheers

  • Mate i need your help. I copy your video exactly yet the encounter happens much differently when i do it. Firstly, thaldred and sanguinar dont run like yours did.. they walk real slow with their bitch ass. Secondly My transitions seem to happen a lot faster on yours because i never have time to get to the places you did. For example, you had plenty of time to get in the tiny room for the mage, i get half way there and shes raping me.. Can i share screen with you while i do it or something?

  • EXPLOITS are what retards use. congrats -.-

  • @ticklemanteehee

Yeah, I killed him myself a couple hours after that post. :)

I basically did the things you've just updated in the description. I would equip the staff and use it about 15 sec after every disruption if I didn't have the racial up. I did have to craft myself two Elementium Deathblades to enchant with mending since his fireballs were just killing me otherwise. My gear is a little worse than yours though so not as much dps.
