I really really like this car. But ive been reading some reports online about it being a car that brings along too many issues. Also 12mpg/18mpg hwy?!? Woahh! -_-

I'm getting one for my sixteenth birthday! I have no experience off-roading, but I'm sure I can learn how to use this car on trails and stuff... but yeah, it was this or a Saab 9-7 X, I think I made the right choice. I can't wait to drive it!

Thank you! This conclusion sums up perfectly the main argument in favour of the 4x4 market. It's a fantastic vehicle and truly capable in so many ways, but it's not a status symbol it's a tool! Don't buy one if you don't need it. Exactly. Thank you!

Simply awesome. My only big complaint is power, which isn't even THAT important in such an SUV. Hopefully they'll continue borrowing engines tuned and/or borrow powertrains from Jaguar. The new 385 hp 5.0L AJ V-8 would be quite interesting.

My other (smaller) complaint is that Land Rovers below the Range Rover don't have a similarly luxurious interior. Obviously it can't be identical, but compare the interiors of the LX/GX, GL/ML, etc, and it makes sense.

I'm not sure what you have against Land Rovers, but there is no denying that they are the best off road vehicles stock. They also have one of the greatest stories to tell, and have the most devoted owner community. Thats all that matters to me.

You are absolutley right. No, a Land Rover is not at all a sensible choice. But, if it strikes a strong cord with you, then by all means go for it! Its just that for me, a car must be relatively reliable or I can't passionate about it, but if it makes you happy, then who am I to say anything? It is the same reason why people buy Italian supercars. They go like hell and make you laugh, even if they'll end their life in a fireball.
