This makes me so mad. What business does a Ohio based station have commenting on the state of our sports teams? Browns suck, Indians suck, Blue Jackets suck, Cavs choke repeatedly.
Im sure the only reason the stadium was half empty #1 because tickets are expensive these days and #2 they aren't the best team to watch so I don't blame my fellow O's fans.
oh yeah, i'm anxious to see how well koji euhara will pitch, i know hes old but hopefully he still has a good 2-3 years left in him ( sorry if i mispelled his name)
really? the orioles played a weekend series against the Rockies in June of '05 when they were in first place in the AL East and they averaged 46,000 fans for the three home games (49,000 for the Friday game, the 6th largest crowd ever at Camden yards at the time). I agree with melhorn14, fans will return if the O's do well again...
I remember that series and wondering why so many people came.
Some of the series' against the Nats sell well, and it isn't a massive away fan takeover like Sox/Yanks.
Another telling night: the night they were celebrating Cal going to the Hall of Fame, 43,000+ showed up to see a meaningless game against the Rays (note: the 2007 Rays, not the amazing '08 Rays).
The fans are still in Baltimore. The ballpark is still beautiful. What's missing? An exciting team to love and ownership that cares.
