Bought one which arrived 2 days ago. It's absolutely amazing. The only thing they could have done different is to include external audio in.

its great for the price, just over £1000 is a bit pricey, but all considered, shop around, im sure you can grab one for around £800, which is brilliant

Its not easy to find info about the bitrate - Guess why ;-). A German page says "Die maximale Bitrate liegt bei 16 MBit/s" You can find a lot of specs on Sonys homepage, but nothing about the bitrate. Maybe the will start using 24 mbps in year 2024 togeter with 24p - Then maby in year 2050 we will get 50p ;-). Buy a tripod and a Sanyo HD-2000. Very soon you will be able to buy cheap post editing software for "Video Stabilization" (The Sony has better stabilizationsystem than the Sanyo)

I would like to see a test between Sony CX520 and Panasonic GH1. I had hoped for better videoresulution in Nikon D300s but who knows many Nikon will bring D700x with superb video proformnce next week. I have Canon HV20 (and Canon 450D) but would like to upgrade - What camcorder/hybrid would you choose. (max. price around Canon 5D mark II and must have autofocus)
