  • I think the washing is just water, but there may be something else as well? Not sure. Probably the washing has something to do with the cleaning and export process, as these bananas came from the field to here. It was a Del Monte banana plant in Costa Rica...perhaps other videos or a web search will give you more details on the processing. Hope that helps! :D

  • Thank you for providing some of the most educational clips. I am currently writing a report on bananas, but is confused by this way of treatment. Hoping you can enlighten me~In this clip, I don't understand why would they wash Bananas? And are those just plain water or is ther any preservation agents being added? And what are the effects and outcomes? Won't this speed up the affect of riping or perhaps any damages? Thank you very much.
